India’s forex reserves fall to 4.59 bn, down by .6 bn as of January 3

India's foreign exchange reserves decreased to $634.59 billion as of the week ending January 3, 2025. The main reason for this drop was a decrease in Foreign Currency Assets by $6.4 billion to $545.47 billion. However, gold reserves increased by $824 million to $67.09 billion. The Reserve Bank of India monitors and intervenes in the forex market to manage liquidity.
