The president, speaking to a unit of the military:

Trump to the Navy: "We have to take care of this little gnat that's on our shoulder called the Democrats."

We don’t have to speculate about what the media reaction would be if a Democratic president said anything like this, because when Hillary Clinton said something that out of context sounded like a much milder version of this (although the actual point she was making was the opposite) it’s something we still hear about all the time.
